Welcome to Sunday evening and Retropower Uncut – your weekly roundup of everything happening at RP HQ.
We’ll kick things off in our customary manner with Nat waxing lyrical about all things metal-based and MIG-able. This week he’s talking through Bobby’s progress on Project Wasaabi, the Saab 900 – where big, beautiful welding is the order of the day – alongside updates on Project Munich, the BMW E9, with Stu tantalisingly close to attaching the rear three-quarters for the final time. There’s also news from Project Brenner, the Aston Martin, where Matt’s metalwork mastery continues to impress.
Marc ‘Hollywood’ Hipperson is back in front of the camera to give you the lowdown on the latest Den project: an Aston Martin in for some TLC and a fresh coat of paint. Bond jokes not included – you’ll need to supply your own.
Over in Assembly, Callum brings us up to speed on what’s happening in the finishing stages here at RP. Highlights this week include the Jensen Interceptor, the Jaguar XJC, and the Mk2 Jaguar Coupe known as Project Churchill. There’s also a montage update on the engine rebuild for the second Austin Allegro / Honda Integra Type R mash-up, Project Lucky Strike.
Last but never, ever least, the CAD collective – Luke and George – bring us up to speed on everything they’ve been scanning, chamfering and sketching behind the scenes.
It’s another long-form episode packed with progress, and we hope you enjoy it.
