George Sinclair

Perhaps the archetypal example of a wise head on young shoulders, George Sinclair’s automotive knowledge is as impressive as it is diverse – made all the more remarkable by the fact that most of it is self-taught.

Since joining the RETROPOWER team in the latter half of 2024, George has proven to be an invaluable addition.

Equally comfortable handling delicate, lathe-based work in the machine room as he is fitting subframes to freshly painted shells – or rebuilding engines – George brings versatility and precision to everything he does. His keen eye and steady hand are evident across many of our recent builds, including the Chevrolet Camaro (Project Stravaig) and the Jensen Interceptor (Project Rooster), both of which bear his unmistakable touch.

George’s passion for classic Americana was practically preordained, thanks to a childhood spent tinkering on old-school Detroit iron with his dad and granddad. That early influence lives on in two of his personal projects: a ’67 Ford Galaxie (which he’s driven across Europe multiple times) and a ’55 Cadillac. But it’s not all V8s and tailfins – his garage also features a pair of Bavarian classics: an E21 and, taking pride of place, an E12 M535i – the very first 5 Series to wear the iconic ‘M’ badge.
