UNCUT VIDEO BLOG: EPISODE 282

Welcome to Sunday evening and Retropower Uncut – your weekly roundup of everything happening at RP HQ.

The big story from the past week at Retropower? It can only be our Aston Martin build, Project Brenner. As of Wednesday afternoon, it’s been de-jigged and lowered onto its (temporary) wheels and suspension for the very first time.

There’s still a long road ahead before it’s driveable in this form, of course, but it’s hard to deny just how striking it already looks. The big Aston has a presence that’s equal parts aggressive and dramatic; every shut line seems to ooze attitude.

Elsewhere in fabrication, progress continues on the BMW E9 – Project Munich – and the Saab 900 – Project Wasaabi. The BMW’s front end will soon be fully welded and permanently attached, while the Saab, thanks to Bobby’s patience and skill, is nearing completion of a bespoke turbo-cooling system.

Over in Assembly, it’s been another pivotal week. Project Lucky Strike (the Austin Allegro) is now running under its own steam following the installation of its newly rebuilt engine. We’ve also welcomed back a long-time Retropower returnee — Project One, the Ford Escort Mk1 restomod. It’s back from minor power steering repairs and has undergone a full service and spanner check while it’s been in.

Up in CAD, Dan and the team have been flat out working on both the Project Bassey Reliant Scimitar and the Project Geneva Jaguar E-Type.
