George’s arrival at RETROPOWER marked a major step forward in our in-house design and engineering capabilities.
A highly skilled designer and CAD engineer, George holds a First-Class Honours degree in Automotive and Transport Design from Coventry University – a foundation he’s built on to become an indispensable part of the team.
His impact has been immediate and far-reaching. From the Project One and Project Kuma Mk1 Escorts to the Lucky Strike Allegros, Project Brenner Aston Martin, Project Wasaabi Saab 900, and Project Bassey Reliant Scimitar, George’s fingerprints are all over some of our most technically ambitious builds. In the case of the Aston Martin, that’s quite literal – he was solely responsible for the design of its fully bespoke, clean-sheet tubular chassis.
George’s approach blends creative flair with engineering precision, and his contributions span everything from chassis development and suspension geometry to brackets, bodywork details (in high-end carbon composite, frequently) and interior fittings. Simply put, several of our recent projects wouldn’t exist in their current form without him.
Away from the screen, George is just as hands-on. He spends much of his free time on the family farm, socket in hand, working on his own builds. One such machine is also his daily driver: a J100-series Toyota Land Cruiser V8 that sees regular and varied service both on and off-road.
His other love is his Mk2 Escort, finished in a head-turning combo of orange and black, groaning under the (figurative) weight of custom, self-designed parts and powered by a recently rebuilt, old-school Crossflow.
