Welcome back to Retropower Uncut!
It may have been a shorter week, but the team’s been flat-out making strong progress across some of your favourite builds and projects.
First up: metalwork — and Project Munich, our BMW E9/E46 M3 build. Stu’s making the most of the car’s new home off the jig and up on the four-post ramp, fabricating a gearbox crossmember while, at the rear, Nat dry-builds and fits the driveshafts and works out how best to route the final section of the exhaust.
Over at Wasaabi, Bobby’s been tackling the challenge of blending the Saab 900’s radically different carbon-fibre bodywork with the OE door surrounds and opening mechanisms. Meanwhile, Matt continues work on the Fiat Dino’s doors while Scott pushes ahead with the shell itself.
The bodyshop’s been buzzing too, as Marc and Luke will confirm, while over in Assembly, Callum rounds up progress on Project Portofino, Project Rooster and the V8-powered Manta.
Finally, we head up to the CAD Den for updates on the Project Bassey Reliant Scimitar from George, and the Geneva E-Type from Luke. Plenty to get stuck into this week; let’s dive in.
