Our first club road trip proved nothing short of exceptional—an unforgettable day shared among great company and remarkable cars. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us.
We began in style under clear skies and bright sunshine, gathering at Demon Tweeks in anticipation of the day ahead. An eclectic and impressive array of members’ cars filled the forecourt, while their owners enjoyed a Roundstone coffee before being treated to a private tour by Jack Minshaw of his father’s extraordinary car collection—an experience that set the tone perfectly.
Once we’d taken it all in, we set off, heading south before venturing onto quieter, more winding roads. Eventually, we joined the B4391—widely regarded as one of the most scenic routes in the UK. Framed by snow-capped peaks, we descended towards Bala Lake, where we paused for a well-earned lunch of locally sourced food and a welcome coffee top-up.
Refreshed, we continued along more breathtaking roads en route to MST Cars. CEO Carwyn Ellis, alongside his team and family, offered an outstanding welcome—a true testament to the spirit and dedication behind MST. After a couple of hours immersed in rally-bred Escort perfection, we made our way to our accommodation for a well-deserved evening meal, accompanied by a few celebratory drinks (and perhaps the occasional tequila).
And the perfect finale? We may just have convinced Carwyn to treat us to a “rally start” outside the hotel in a BDA-powered Mk1 Escort—a moment to remember, and a fitting end to an incredible first outing
