DEFENDER DAY

Our day begins at 10:00am at Retro Defenders, Thorpe Arch Estate, Wetherby (LS23 7FA), where coffee and refreshments await your arrival. Once assembled, we’ll enjoy an exclusive tour of the facility — an opportunity to immerse ourselves in craftsmanship, heritage, and automotive passion before the real adventure begins.

From there, we take to the road for a short but spirited drive to  Yorkshire Outdoors, where the tempo rises considerably. Dividing into two groups, half of us will take the wheel to put Land Rovers through their paces, tackling demanding terrain and testing both nerve and skill. Meanwhile, the other half will channel their competitive edge with axe throwing and archery — a chance to sharpen aim, steady the hand, and release a little adrenaline.

Afterwards, the groups will switch, ensuring everyone experiences both the mud-splattered thrill of the off-road course and the satisfying precision of target sports. Drinks and snacks will be provided to keep energy levels high throughout.

Finally, we regroup for a scenic drive to The Motorist, New Lennerton Lane, Sherburn in Elmet (LS25 6JE), where a convivial group dinner awaits — the perfect setting to relax, recount the day’s exploits, and raise a glass to shared adventure.
