Inspired by Wainwright!

An epic road journey inspired by the legendary Wainwright Coast-to-Coast route.

We gather on the Friday evening for a convivial group dinner at the stunning Wrea Head Hall Hotel before retiring for a restful night’s sleep ready for the following day’s antics!

An early start the following morning sees us assemble on Scarborough’s Royal Albert Drive for a commemorative photograph, marking the beginning of our adventure. From there, we carve a memorable path through the sweeping landscapes of the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, enjoying a thrilling drive to the Tan Hill Inn — the highest pub in the UK — where lunch awaits.

Refreshed, we continue westward into the Lake District, embracing its dramatic scenery and iconic roads, including the legendary Kirkstone Pass. Reaching St Bees on the Cumbrian coast ensures our “coast-to-coast” credentials are duly earned, before we head to our accommodation at the Moresby Hall Hotel for a well-deserved dinner and an evening of lively celebration. As of 26th march we are adding an additional 7 places on this event and those seven people will stay 10 minutes away at the Melbreak Hotel. We will provide transport to and from Moresby hall so the whole group will still socialise and eat together at Moresby Hall.

On Sunday morning, we make a final pilgrimage to the Ruskin Museum to admire the iconic Bluebird speedboat, before bidding fond farewells and setting off on our respective journeys home.
